Default Petition: Insignias available for Tyrian/Canthan armor

Lookie lookie! We all love petitions! Devs love petitions! Lets have a petition then!

As you probably all or at least most know Tyrian/Canthan armor cannot currently hold insignias. Although I have my own complaints about the system I think it would be a good idea to add an end-game NPC with the ability to strip all modifiers from Tyrian or Canthan armor. After which you could apply insignias to that armor as if it was normal NF armor.
Considering that quite a few people probably have this armor they like and have paid good money (+runes and dye) for but think the mods have become obsolete (knights and sentinel for example) and would like to change them without having to buy a completely new set. I myself would happily pay 1-5k for that kind of service. I don't see it affecting gameplay in any way so I don't think its unreasonable to ask it implemented.

/agree to agree. All feedback will be appreciated. Thank you.

You do realise this will probably be added anyway!

They updated the tyrian armor when factions was released, so there is no reason they wont get around to updating tyrian and canthan armor to fit in with Elonian gear.

Its only been about a month, give them a chance.

But I just absolutely 100% positively LOVE petitions! Anyways I haven't heard anything about whether or not Anet will be adding the option. Therefore little puppy-eyed begging can't hurt, right? Its a safe bet. We have nothing to lose here.

I think it will never happen.
Factions came out and introduced the ability to buy any armor look for any stats you want.
This feature was never added to the Tyrian armor. If you want warrior +energy and have only ch1 then you are stuck wiht being naked using the glads armor.

I think they should keep it the way it is.
Each chapter will introduce a new way to craft armor/weapon to keep things exciting.

I agree with the fact that its only a matter of time before its rolled out, remember that like factions when that was released there where things that needed ironing out then too.

Nightfall has brought many changes, some good, some brilliant, some bad I am sure for the most it will work out great

I'll sign for Fissure Armour but not the others as they're obviously not in the same league when it comes to cost as stated above, I also think there should be a seperate NPC for Insignias rather than the Rune Trader as it's confusing a lot of people with Prop/Factions only atm.

Question: Anyone crafted FoW for any profession (other than Para or Derv as I'm guessing you can insignia those types) since Nightfall has been live and been able to put insignias on at all?, as if so then those of us with existing FoW should really have the option available to us should we wish to change.

i dont think it is right to modify older chapters of guildwars to be more like the current chapter. insignias and heroes should stay in elona. otherwise why should i buy new chapters when i know the devs will eventually implement the changes.

BTW i an not happy about implementing material storage for tyria characters. in my opinion, if you want these types of upgrades then you need to buy the new chapters and move your toons through them like the rest of us.

also, tyria and cantha have their own personalities and introducing these new elements will ruin that.

Actually, I like the idea of having an NPC to do it. Put it in Kamadan and you keep the people who don't own ch3 from having access to it, but those that do own it, can upgrade their armor as it suits them. My primary character is a ranger and I wear the druids armor, but I much prefer the 15k drakescale and would love to be able to give it druid stats, I just don't like how the NF druids armor looks, personal preference I know, but my preference in how an armor looks should mean I'm screwed as far as being able to have inscriptions on an armor set, I do own all 3 chapters and have them all linked together, let me upgrade my drakescale.

For someone new to Guild Wars, the question would be:

"Why should I buy the old chapters when I know that the devs have left them woefully inferior to the new chapter?"

With inscriptions, there is a valid argument against pushing that change back to Tyria and Cantha (see the 50+ page thread for a discussion of that).

However, with insignia, there is absolutely no reason that armors shouldn't have the same functionality in every chapter.

/signed for people with Nightfall, but /unsigned for those without Nightfall...

I believe that when people bought Nightfall, they bought this option for armor as well. Therefore, if you have, say, 15k Luxon for example, you should be able to change the Insignia of the armor at the end of the game of Nightfall.

However, if you don't have Nightfall, then I believe it wouldn't be fair for them to have the option of this.

I would rather see Anet working forwards, not looking back.

/signed. The best option, imo, is to have some sort of NPC in Elona that can convert old armor to NF-style armor...

That way, you'd still need NF.

I understand the reasoning behind leaving it as a NF only addition. However I do believe it would be a nice gesture for those people who havn't purchased NF yet. So kind of on the fence about that.

Regardless, I feel this should definitly be implemented for those of us who do not want to part with our current armor.

I like my 15k Glad's armor a lot on my girl warrior, but I sure would like to be able to swap the stats up. Energy is good, but I have gravitated towards wanting more armor as of late.
